Event Description

Led by performance artist, playwright and poet, Alice d'Lumiere, this workshop will cover technical verse construction as well as discussing practical performance and live audience engagement. Alice will look at the basic building blocks of verse -- meter, rhyme, stress, and syllable -- and explore techniques to engage with audiences in a variety of venues and different events. She'll discuss well-known poems as well as her own work, and there will be time to look at participants' own writing at the end.

This workshop is primarily aimed at adults, but teenagers interested in the technical construction of performance poetry are more than welcome.
