Event Description
A daytime poetry session held within a library room, centred around live readings and spoken word performances.
This is not a workshop or teaching session, but a hosted event where individuals can:
• Perform original poetry
• Share spoken word pieces
• Attend as listeners and engage with the atmosphere
The tone will be relaxed, respectful, and accessible to all experience levels.
Format & Structure
• Duration: 1.5 – 2 hours
• Host: Ben Blye
• Format: Open mic (approx. 5-minute slots per performer)
Typical Running Order:
1. Welcome & introduction
2. Opening performance (host)
3. Open mic segment
4. Closing performance / wrap-up
Future sessions may include invited guest poets.
Audience & Attendance
• Estimated 10–25 attendees for initial session
• Open to:
o Local writers and creatives
o Library visitors
o Members of the public
The event is designed to grow organically over time.
